Wan is co-founder, with her husband Marshall, of Hamachi Studio, a resort like, home based endeavor nested in the Angeles Forest mountains of Southern California.
Together, with over three quarters of a century of arts and design experience, Wan and Marshall create living processes that foster contemplation, healing, relational well-being, and healthy longevity.
Fluent in six spoken languages and multiple technologies and disciplines, including natural and social sciences, the Hamachis are life-long learners comfortable relating with people from diverse cultures. A major design directive is the nurturing of well-being in everyday life.
To that end, they see flowers as indispensable and grow many varieties in their garden and greenhouse, along with fruits and vegetables.
Wan uses fresh flowers as live models for the creation of paper specimens. She first engaged with making paper flowers as a process of healing from the loss of a loved one and has since included this fine art in her repertoire.
Wan and Marshall are currently engaged in the production of a series of video tutorials showcasing a variety of techniques and applications for premium crepe paper at Carte Fini's request. More details will be available soon.
